Encourage your kids in the kitchen…they will inevitably catch on! My girls love surprising each other with a meal. This time it was McKenna’s turn. She made breakfast for her two older sisters, who we allowed to sleep in for the sake of the event. She made fruit smoothies, bagels with assorted cream cheeses, and fresh fruit. It was great! Here’s the smoothie recipe…you’ll love it!
2 c. frozen mixed fruit
1/2 c. vanilla yogurt
1/4 – 1/2 c. juice (orange, pineapple…whatever you like. We used v-8 splash for this one!)
1 whole fresh, sliced banana
1/4 c. fresh diced pineapple
1/2 c. ice cubes
Blend all ingredients until smooth. That’s it! Just make sure the smoothies are served in pretty glasses with silly straws…very important!
