Scooby Snack~Tip of the Day! February 19, 2010

While cruising around the internet for my home-school curriculum for next year, I came across a few sites that talk about helping your kids to form good study habits at home. I have talked to plenty of moms who have a hard time with this issue, so here are some sites with some good tips…I thought some of you awesome moms might want to take a look!

Hi Janine, Glad you liked our study habits article and thanks for sharing it with your readers!

At my house, the thing that works best to keep my boys (5 & 7) focused during homework time is to break things up with yoga! We work for 15 – 20 minutes and then do 2 or 3 poses (I let each boy choose 1 pose). It lets them get out some of their energy without getting them too wound up. They come back to the table calm and focused and ready to work! There are lots of great kid yoga books out there to help you get started. And you don’t have to be a yoga instructor (or even practice yoga yourself) to teach your kids. (But I do recommend using a book just so you’re sure you do poses safely for their little bodies).

    Thanks again!
