While out shopping with my youngest daughter, I was having hair issues…my hair kept falling in my eyes.
This normally wouldn’t bother me, but I was trying to concentrate on all I had to get, and it was just annoying.
We finally sat down, had a slice of pizza and took a minute to breathe.
“My hair is really getting on my nerves,” I said in a frustrated tone.
“You shouldn’t really say that, Mom,” rebuked my 7 yr. old, her pigtails flying.
“Why not?” I asked, “What’s wrong with saying that?”
“Well, it just sounds kinda…yick!” she said grimacing.
“Well what am I supposed to say?” I asked, curious as to why I couldn’t use that very popular, innocent term.
“Uh, you should say they’re getting on your ‘nerds’ instead. Yeah, that sounds way better.”
“Ok…my hair is getting on my ‘nerds’ then….is that better?” I asked with a grin.
She answered, skipping down the aisle, “Yup, that’s good!”
Honestly….who IS she? NERDS?!? Too funny.
